Designing mobilities

Designing mobilities
Jensen, Ole B.
2014
Aalborg, Aalborg University Press. 297 p.
Resumen: How is the width of the pavement shaping the urban experience? How is the material design of transport infrastructure and mobile technology affording social interaction in everyday life spaces? How are people inhabiting these spaces with their bodies and in accordance to social and cultural norms? These are some of the questions that this book raises in order to explore how the design of mobile sites and situations affect people's everyday life. Designing Mobilities takes as its point of departure the author's book Staging Mobilities (Routledge, 2013) in which it is argued that mobility is much more than simple movements of people, goods, and information 'from A to B.' Accordingly, the ways in which people, goods, and information move shapes the way we understand our built environment, other consociates, and ourselves. The book contributes a new and critical-creative gaze on what might seem to be trivial and mundane acts of movement around in the city. Designing Mobilities is based on more than a decade of academic research by Ole B. Jensen, a professor of urban theory. The book will be a must-read for students and scholars with an interest in urban studies, urban design, architecture, urban planning, transport planning and geography, urban geography, anthropology, design studies, interaction design, and urban sociology.

Manual de ergonomía

Manual de ergonomía
Falzon, Pierre
2009
Madrid, Modus Laborandi. 707 p.

The Block reader

The Block reader in visual culture
1996
London, New York, Routledge. 342 p.
Resumen: Block was a hugely influential journal in the developing fields of Visual and Cultural Studies. The Block Reader brings together classic writings by leading cultural theorists and artists which were first published in the journal, to provide an invaluable resource for the teaching and study of art and design history and theory and cultural studies.

Conceptual blockbusting : a guide to better ideas
Adams, James L
2001
New York, Basic Books. 220 p.
Resumen: James Adams's unique approach to generating ideas and solving problems has captivated, inspired, and guided thousands of people from all walks of life. Now, twenty-five years after its original publication, Conceptual Blockbusting has never been more relevant, powerful, or fresh. Integrating insights from the worlds of psychology, engineering, management, art, and philosophy, Adams identifies the key blocks (perceptual, emotional, cultural, environmental, intellectual, and expressive) that prevent us from realizing the full potential of our fertile minds. Employing unconventional exercises and other interactive elements, Adams shows individuals, teams, and organizations how to overcome these blocks, embrace alternative ways of thinking about complex problems, and celebrate the joy of creativity. With new examples and contemporary references, Conceptual Blockbusting is guaranteed to introduce a new generation of readers to a world of new possibilities.
